It may be identified that with some of the above conditions, a biomechanical assessment is required.

Biomechanical Assessments

This is an appointment during which we carry out an assessment of the foot and lower limb, using gait analysis to help determine the cause of the complaint. We may sometimes use a treadmill if the injury/pain occurs during running. Treatment will include advice on shoewear, stretching and exercise and may involve the provision and prescription of casted orthotics or simple insoles to help compensate for the structural imbalances affecting the function of the feet and lower limb.

Specialist footcare for people with diabetes

Alongside routine care of your feet, treatment this will also include an annual diabetic foot screening, where we will check the circulation and nerve supply to the feet and ensure that your feet are not ‘at risk’. You will also be given advice on the best way to care for your feet, including information on shoewear, to ensure that your feet remain in good condition.

Ingrowing toenails

For those people who suffer repeatedly from infections of the toenails or have a very painful toe caused by an in-growing toenail, we do a minor surgical procedure under local anaesthetic which is a permanent and painless way of eradicating the problematic part of the nail. Contact the clinic for an initial assessment.
